Message from the Principal

Viking Nation,

These are new and challenging times for our state and nation. Despite any challenges, Vikings have overcome. The 2020 graduates of Navarro were honored this month with a graduation parade, a virtual graduation, and a graduation walk at House Park. We are very proud of this amazing group of graduates, and the resilience they have shown over these last few months is a testament to the spirit and determination that will take them far in life. Many thanks go out to the teachers and staff who worked to put these events together for our graduates!
In a couple of months we will welcome our returning students back to campus, along with a new group of future Viking graduates we will welcome in as 9th graders! Navarro teachers and staff look forward to the accomplishments and achievements we will witness in all of our future graduates. In this time of uncertainty, we take comfort in the knowledge that the future of our community will be in good hands.
Regardless of what the fall brings and all of the uncertainties we currently face, the Navarro teachers and staff will work tirelessly to increase opportunities for our student body. We continue to expand and develop our early college programs, and will continue to lead the way in Career and Technology programs. Our students deserve it, and have shown the ability to thrive in these challenging programs.
Our district is currently working to establish plans for the fall semester. We know a flexible model will be created to allow for in person learning as circumstances dictate, with an understanding virtual learning will continue to be part of our new world. The health and safety of our school community will be at the forefront of all decisions, though we miss seeing our students on campus everyday! We will face great challenges but are confident that our Viking spirit will guide us through any obstacles.
The Navarro ECHS vertical team is committed to cultural proficiency and the celebration of the diversity our campus holds. We know there is much work to be done, and we will continue to grow together as we continue to strive for equity amongst all stakeholders. The conversations will be difficult at times, but it is our responsibility to provide opportunities for our students and staff to engage in these conversations.
Thank you Viking community for making Navarro ECHS the best high school around! We look forward to seeing our students and families soon. Please continue to follow us on social media (Navarro Facebook & Navarro Instagram), and look out for communications from both the school and the district as information is shared. Have a great summer and stay safe!

Early College High School

Navarro High School is pleased to offer an Early College High School (ECHS) plan to students. In collaboration with Austin Community College, students are able to access classes at both levels. Students who are enrolled in the ECHS program will receive a high school dimploma and their associates degree (60 hours of college credit) from ACC at graduation. This program is offered to all who are interested and is completely free. In order to enroll, students must pass their Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSI).
