You should have your chromebook open/logged in and any supplies for the class by 8:55.
You can also have writing utensils/notebooks and device chargers on hand for a successful learning experience.
Advisory
During the first week of school you will log into your advisory course through blend no later than 9:00. You will receive important first week information from your advisory teacher. Your advisory teacher will be a great resource all year to ask questions related to academics, procedures, attendance etc.
After the first week you will log into your advisory blend course after 1st/5th period daily for academic advising and important information. Your advisory teacher will also be contacting you and your guardian if you are not attending classes or you are failing classes
Log onto Blend and go to your 1st/5th period class for “Synchronous: learning:
You should expect some sort of interaction between other students and teacher during this time through a zoom link, discussion board, quiz or video. Remember if you log in late you will miss crucial instruction that will affect your grade!
During the last 30 minutes of each period “Asynchronous” instruction will occur:
Teachers will transition you from any “live” form of class at the first part of the period to some sort of independent/group work. This will likely be some sort of assignment you will work on independently and turn in either that day or by the next class period. Your grade will be dependent on your ability to engage in both synchronous and asynchronous portions of the class.
Breaks 11:05 and 2:55:
You will have a five minute break in the morning between classes and another in the afternoon. During these short breaks you should use the restroom, get a snack, get materials needed etc. Make sure you are not late to your next class and ensure that your chromebook is charged during these breaks so you are ready for continued learning!
Lunch 12:40-1:25:
This is your time. Eat a nutritious meal. Check to make sure your chromebook is charged and write down any reminders from the morning. We recommend you do not work, and instead take this time as a rest from the computer and your school work.
The rest of the day up to 4:40:
You will repeat this process for all four of your class periods everyday. You will not be able to attend any class that does not follow your schedule. Use asynchronous time to ask your teachers questions through Remind or email for quick feedback and response. Please see page one for the first week and regular bell schedule.
