Parents and students are responsible for assuring that the Office of the Registrar receives high school educational records for a student who is registering. Courses will be evaluated for transfer of credit. Award of credit is based on alignment with Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills (TEKS).
A student entering the district from non-accredited public, private, or parochial school, including home schools, or a school outside of the State of Texas, shall be placed initially at the discretion of the principal, pending assessment appropriate to the student’s grade level, validation of credits, or results of credit-by-examination tests [FD (LOCAL)]. Parents or students shall request credit validation at the time of registration.
Promotion, grade-level advancement, and course credit shall be based on mastery of the curriculum. Grade level advancement for students in grades 9th through 12th shall be determined by course credits and the student’s original year of entry into 9th grade. (EIE LOCAL).
