Agriculture

Agricultural education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems. Through agricultural education, students are provided opportunities for leadership development, personal growth and career success. Agricultural education instruction is delivered through three major components:

  • Classroom/Laboratory Instruction (contextual learning) 
  • Supervised Agricultural Experience programs (work-based learning) 
  • Student leadership organization (National FFA Organization, National Young Farmer Educational Association and National Post-secondary Agricultural Student Organization).

Animal Science / Veterinary Medicine

  • Small Animal Management (10th-12th Grade)
  • Veterinary Medical Applications (11th-12th Grade)
  • Advanced Animal Science (11th-12th Grade)
  • Practicum in Veterinary Medicine/Internship (12th Grade)

Agriculture Mechanics / Welding

  • Principles of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (9th-10th Grade)
  • Agriculture Mechanics and Metal Technologies (10th - 12th Grade)
  • Practicum in Agriculture Mechanics (11th-12th Grade)
  • ACC Dual Credit Welding (11th-12th Grade)

Horticulture / Floriculture

  • Principles of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (9th-10th Grade)
  • Floral Design (10th-12th Grade)
  • Advanced Floral Design (11th-12th Grade)
  • Advanced Plant and Soil Science (11th-12th Grade)
  • Practicum in Horticulture/Internship (12th Grade)
