The Teaching and Training Program of Study prepares students for careers in education and instructional services. Students explore how people learn, develop teaching and leadership skills, create instructional materials, and gain experience working with diverse groups of learners.
Throughout the program, students learn to:
- Understand the needs of diverse learners
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials
- Apply effective teaching and classroom management strategies
- Lead and mentor individuals and groups
- Explore careers in education and training

Course Sequence
The following courses are required to complete the Teaching and Training Program of Study. Courses are organized by program level and are not required to be taken in sequential order. Below are the program levels and their corresponding courses.
- Level 2: Child Development
- Level 3: Instructional Practices
- Level 4: Practicum in Education and Training (First Time Taken)
Industry-Based Certifications
Students who successfully complete this program have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications that validate their instructional knowledge, professional skills, and workplace readiness. These credentials help prepare students for careers in education and provide a competitive advantage when pursuing employment or further study in the field of teaching and training.
