Diploma Replacement

High school diplomas are ceremonial documents issued upon graduation to recognize the completion of graduation requirements. They are not considered official academic records. For proof of graduation or to verify academic history, alumni should request an official transcript, which serves as the official academic record.

Third-party representatives seeking to verify a former student’s graduation or academic history must submit an education verification request. Additional information is available on the Education Verifications page of our website.

Official Name on Diploma Replacements

Duplicate diplomas will reflect your name exactly as it appears on your official transcript at the time of graduation.

Prior to graduation, all candidates were given the opportunity to verify the spelling of their name. If no corrections were requested at that time, the name printed on the original diploma was issued as confirmed.

After graduation, we are unable to make changes or corrections to the name listed on your official transcript or diploma, as transcripts are considered final once a student has graduated and may not be altered.

Format of Diplomas by Graduation Year

Replacement diplomas are issued according to district guidelines and may vary in appearance depending on the year of graduation. While all replacement diplomas reflect the graduate’s original graduation date, formatting, school name, and signatures may differ based on the template in use at the time of reissuance.

Please review the information below to determine how your replacement diploma will be issued based on your graduating class year.

Graduates from the Class of 2024 and later will receive a replacement diploma that is identical to the original issued at the time of graduation. The diploma will reflect the original graduation date and will include the signatures of the Principal, Superintendent, and Board of Trustees Officers who were serving at that time.

Beginning with the Class of 2024, diplomas are issued by Herff Jones. Because of this change, we are unable to provide identical replacements for graduates prior to 2024. All replacement diplomas for the Class of 2023 or earlier will reflect the original graduation date and include the signatures of the current Superintendent and President of the Board of Trustees. They will not include the signature of the Principal or other Board Officers who were serving at the time of the original graduation.

Alumni from the classes of 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 who graduated under the school's current name will receive a replacement diploma that is similar in appearance to the original but will follow the district’s current diploma template. The school name will appear as Juan P. Navarro Early College High School.

Alumni who graduated under the school's former name will receive a replacement diploma that is similar in appearance to the original but will follow the district’s current diploma template. The school name will not appear as Sidney Lanier High School or Sidney Lanier Early College High School. Instead, it will be issued under Austin Independent School District using a generic district template.
