The State of Texas Academic Achievement Record (Transcript) serves as the official and permanent record of a student’s high school academic history and is maintained for all current and former students.
The transcript includes student demographic information, school data, enrollment history, and a complete record of courses and credits earned. A student’s performance on state assessments, including end-of-course (EOC) assessments, is also included as part of the academic achievement record.
Transcripts are issued only upon request and may be requested by the student, or a parent or legal guardian if the student is under the age of 18.
How to Request a Transcript
Formerly enrolled students must submit transcript requests using the online form. Requests submitted on a student’s behalf by institutions, employers, or other agencies will not be accepted.
Payment Methods
The fee for official transcripts is $5 per copy. Payment is required at the time of the request, and transcripts will be processed once payment is received.
Payments may be made online via MySchoolCentral or in exact cash when picking up transcripts in person.
All in-person payments must be made with exact cash, as change cannot be provided. You may not request a transcript to be mailed or sent via TREx if you select the cash payment option. If you have selected the cash payment option and request it to be mailed or sent via TREx, your request will be canceled.
Once an online order is paid, it cannot be revised, canceled, or refunded. Confirmed requests that have selected the online payment option but are left unpaid will be canceled and must be resubmitted. Do not use the browser’s “back” button during online order placement. Submission of payment via MySchoolCentral without submitting a formal request via the Google Form does not constitute a completed transcript request.
Delivery Methods
There are three delivery options for official transcripts ordered online: Mail, Pick Up, and TREx.
All mailed or picked-up transcripts are placed in a sealed envelope with the registrar’s signature across the back flap. Transcripts sent directly to third parties are also sealed.
Under no circumstances does the Office of the Registrar provide transcripts in digital format, including via email or fax.
Transcripts are typically mailed within 4–5 business days. During peak periods, processing may take longer. Transcripts are sent via U.S. First Class Mail and cannot be tracked. Mailing may be to your home address or directly to an institution, employer, or agency. Additionally, Incomplete or incorrect mailing addresses may result in delivery delays or returned transcripts.
Transcripts are typically ready within 3–4 business days. You may pick up your transcript in person or authorize someone else to do so.
Electronic transcripts sent via TREx are typically delivered within 1–2 business days. This option is available only to students who attended in 2012 or later and is limited to select Texas colleges and universities.
Although TREx records can be tracked, the Office of the Registrar does not provide confirmation of receipt. Please follow up with the receiving party to verify delivery.
